Advocate Naveen Kumar Jain is a Partner at Parens Patrice. He received his law degree from Law Centre-I, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in 2008 and enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi the same year. He has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi. He took firsthand training from renowned judges and advocates of the trial courts in Delhi, across the fields of district-level litigation.
He presently handles matters in the District Courts of Delhi and NCR, and arbitration before arbitral tribunals and the Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), New Delhi. His practice is concentrated in arbitration, property cases and commercial suits. He is particularly known for cross-examination of witnesses.
He is a practised mediator. He works to persuade parties to resolve disputes in mediation rather than contest long litigation, and believes settlement should be explored from the first conference. Clients often instruct him to close files that have remained pending for several years through mediation rather than further contest.
He has been invited to adjudicate moot court competitions at several universities, and has taken part in seminars and conferences on civil and arbitration law. He has completed several courses from LawSikho and a certificate course on Artificial Intelligence for Legal Professionals from the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. He is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi, the Supreme Court Bar Association, the Delhi High Court Bar Association and the Delhi Bar Association.
He is presently on the panel of the National Internet Exchange of India, New Delhi. He has earlier been on the panels of DG MAP, Ministry of Defence, and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL). Corporations, firms, societies and other organisations have instructed him in the District Courts across energy, travel, textiles, flour milling, jewellery, technology, internet, defence and construction.
Settlement should be explored from day one. Mediation is often wiser than years of contest.
