Advocate Praveen Kumar Jain is the Managing Partner of Parens Patrice and appears regularly before the Supreme Court of India, the High Court of Delhi, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, and arbitral tribunals. He took his LL.B. from the Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in 2004, after a First Division B.Com. (Accounting & Finance) from the University of Rajasthan. He has since added an LL.M. in Alternative Dispute Resolution from IILM (84%), a PG Diploma in ADR from the Indian Law Institute, and a PG Diploma in Arbitration Law (investor-state and international commercial arbitration) at NLSIU. He practises from the chambers at Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi, with a team of advocates and para-legal staff. He works in English and Hindi.
His formative training was under Hon’ble Mr. Justice R.C. Lahoti, Former Chief Justice of India (2006–08), assisting in opinions on intellectual property, mines and minerals, corporate law, indirect taxes, property and special economic zones, and attending domestic and international commercial arbitration. Earlier he worked with Amitabha Sen & Co., independently arguing before NCDRC and international commercial tribunals and filing trademark and patent applications for international clients.
In 2008–09 he independently conducted an international commercial arbitration before the International Court of Arbitration (ICA), France, in a dispute of over ₹120 crores. He has since specialised in arbitration, civil and writ matters, with particular depth in construction and engineering references. As Arbitration Consultant to DG MAP, Ministry of Defence, he has defended the department in over two dozen construction-engineering arbitrations — including matters involving L&T, NCC, Omaxe, JMC Projects, Ahluwalia Contracts, Simplex Infrastructure and others — before tribunals comprising former Chief Justices of India and former judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts. His Supreme Court and High Court work also covers civil, criminal, consumer, service, industrial and corporate matters.
He has published eight articles in journals of national repute, including a 2024 case comment in the IILM University Law Journal on Shriram Pistons & Rings Ltd. v. Basant Khatri, and assisted an Associate Professor at Campus Law Centre, DU, on Copyright and Related Rights – National & International Perspectives (Macmillan India Ltd.). He has lectured on intellectual property at Vivekananda Law School, addressed Company Secretaries (NIRC of ICSI and the ICSI PMQ course on arbitration), spoken to NHPC officers at IIM Jammu on construction arbitration, presented a paper on arbitration, evidence and access to justice (Asian Law College, 2025), and served as a judge or arbitrator in student ADR competitions including Amity International Moot (2013), NHRC–LC-1 National Moot (2016), LC-1 All Delhi Moot (2018), Inter-InADR Mediation Competition (2025) and the Justice J.S. Verma Memorial ADR Competition.
